web-promotionAre you in view of placing 100,000 new pages onto your 20,000-page site? Think again, as this may be a terrible idea. Many times, publishers will quickly make the size of their site bigger in order to trail search volume from the long tail of search. Keep in mind that for purposes of this article, we will initially assume that the addition of such a large number of pages means that they are a bit thin on unique content.

In any event, this occurrence of throttling sites based on rate of page growth is not an instant worry. You should not avoid is as a possible factor, but here are some other factors you may want to consider.

Problems

1. The user seek knowledge on these pages will probably be poor. Let’s go though with it, if you are putting even thousands of pages at once you have to ask yourself what is the assistance the user will acquire from these pages. Truly, there is a challenge of making all these pages appealing and valuable to users

2. There are methods to potentially work around this challenge. But, the bottom line is that if you push out a load of pages where the user experience is poor, then your users may suffer, and you will contain troubles recognized in the next two points.

3. The pages probably won’t attract links. People who read my writings know that I say that publishers link to other web sites when they are not compensated because they think that the other site has something of value to provide to their visitors. If you don’t provide a good user experience, then you are not going to entail those links.

4. Keep in mind that one of the essential ways that search engines assess the quality of a site’s content is based on the number of links that the content entails. This is true even in a subsection of a web site. If your block of new content has been out there for several months and has no links directly to at least some part of that block.

Solutions

1. There are some things by which you can reduce your risks when quickly expanding site size:

2. Roll those pages out slightly more slowly. This will provide you more time to beef them up a bit.

3. Enlist some part-time writers such as stay-at-home workers to develop large quantities of content for you at low cost.

Look out for a way to leverage machine-generated content. This one is slightly tricky because it is simple to do this badly, but here is the bottom line if you can create a large number of pages using machine-generated content, and these pages offer real and material value to users, then you are all set.
