1.    Generating traffic from ads that are placed in different positions.
2.    Doing promotion for getting popularity of the websites.

If you really want to advertise you website, then always remember one thing target the right audience. This will help you and your business. Once you have target the right audience, your website will automatically promote. Now the question arise what right target audience is? Target audience means that the website is promoting for a particular product for a particular age group people.

Once you select the target audience, your next task is to find out and pull them into your website. One of most important technique to attract visitors is to place your ads on other websites but related to your site. Also it will be popular amongst your targeted audience. So, make a list of such websites and place your ads there.

There are also other number of Online advertising techniques like banner ads, contextual ads, pop-ups and pop-under advertisements, the latest audio- video advertising, graphical ads and so on, which can be used on websites to promote them.

Even you can use PPC; it’s a search engine marketing technique. Generating traffic through Online Advertising will take some time but it doesn’t mean that its ineffective and waste of time. One thing keeps in mind that Online Advertisement completely depends on the way it is advertised. It should necessarily be creative, attractive and definitely catchy in language.
