Twitter is a low cost effective advertising medium, can also be used as a public relations tool.

Twitter is more effective tool for business branding to monitor your brand. Twitter is more a marketing tool when using them in your “niche”.

I would say that Twitter is more effective marketing tool and very helpful in Search Engine Optimization.
